Statement from Bruce Blake

Statement

Bruce Blakeman, Republican-Conservative-Independence nominee for Congress in New York's 4th Congressional District, issued the following remarks earlier this afternoon upon the news that the bodies of three kidnapped boys were found by IDF:

"Our worst fears have been realized with the discovery of the three kidnapped Israeli teenagers' bodies -- including Naftali Frenkel, who holds dual United States citizenship with Israel. "Eyal Yifrach, Gil-ad Shaar and Naftali were murdered in cold-blood.

"While others merely respond to this savage act of brutality by simply "condemning' this violence against innocent, unarmed civilians -- including one with United States citizenship -- mere words are not enough. It's regrettable that President Obama lacked the leadership to say anything or even acknowledge this tragic situation as it unfolded or during his Rose Garden press conference this afternoon.

"Unfortunately, this is the path that the Obama administration continues to take: first with Ambassador Stevens' murder, then with continued acts of aggression and murder in Israel by Hamas and now with these boys.

"Let me be clear: there cannot be any peace with terrorists who commit such heinous crimes. Hamas and its followers are merchants of death and must be treated accordingly. Anyone who thinks otherwise is naïve. This administration's international policy, which has not accepted this simple fact, has failed.

"The cowardly terrorists who murdered Eyal, Gil-ad and Naftali must be brought to justice swiftly. My deepest condolences go out to the families of these slain boys; my thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn their unspeakable loss."
